AUTHOR/ITY (2004)
I had been working on Lecture #4: "On Sound Composition as
Anti-Authoritarian Writing" when Ben Basan invited me to submit to The
Iowa Review Web "Sound" issue.
Lecture #4 was a struggle against god following Maninder's death. For
one reason or another, I did not have the wherewithal to follow the
essay into the total nihilism that it asked for. It was not completed.
"Author/ity" is a portion that could be encapsulated, a meditation on
the history of writing and the possibilities of what Kostelanetz has
called "Audio Writing."
No longer available on TIR... so I've posted it to Soundcloud:
Available for sale through Sound and Language HERE.
